Dear Ms Streisand:
I Am a fan of yours and have seen many of your
movies. I have enjoyed most of them. I
am an advocate for the poor and especially poor Black People. My feeling is, if
I can politely say, it is sinful that we have so many varied artistic
expressions and artistic events to go to and the price is so high that poor
People can’t go if they want to. That is a great deal of families who have to
do without such entertainment and culturally enriching events such as Shen Yun,
the Chinese dancing and cultural celebration that is getting phenomenal reviews
and will be here in Philadelphia from early February to early March.
My
heart goes out to you for the magnificent work you do to raise money for good
causes. I’ve seen ALL of your movies. My favorite has to be`` The Owle &
The Pussycat,’’ with George Segal. The character Doris was expertly crafted
& the result was a movie that was pee-in-your-pants funny. But the film
also says something about class distinctions that is so important. My friends
at the Worker’s World Party in New York & elsewhere should use it as a
learning tool.
I have a lot of
socialist friends, but I am not a socialist. I joined the Republican Party on
June 13th, 2016 to teach the Republicans a lesson about racism,
sexism, & homophobia. To make a point, I work very hard to LOVe
everyone. {This is NOT easy }, because some people are just basically greedy,
hateful and petty.} I often fail at LOVing everyone, but I feel a heap of
Jewish Guilt, when I fail at LOVing everyone. I was no fan of George H. W.
Bush’s & I found Him to be not so great a person. I still have to do the research to discover
some of the things He did that I might like, and add this to my thoughts about
Him.
Many
People were talking about a ``special friendship’’ between Mrs. Michelle Obama &
George Bush Junior. This is good in a Way, but does it stop the basic injustice
of the Republican Party? Not really. The Republicans must reject the racism
that was used to beat Willie Horton into the ground & elect George Bush
Senior in 1988 when George Bush Senior was elected. The Republicans must reject putting people who
hate Black People like Clarence Thomas { even though Clarence Thomas is Black
Himself} in office at the Supreme Court.
{ I have recently looked at some footage on You Tube of Mr. Thomas
speaking openly and frankly to college students, and have begun to temper my
views.
Moreover, I Am proposing that
Supreme Court Judges only get to sit on the high court for 10 years. That’s It!
10 years. Supreme Court Judges also must be elected by the Public through a
fair, honest, open & uncompromisingly un-corruptible process. I need
your help to make this happen. I am
working to have a meeting with our Congressman -- Dwight Evans -- on just this matter. I invite you and a
staff person to attend as well. I will let you know when the meeting is
scheduled.
