A Review of Eat Cafe'

A Review of Eat Cafe'

**There is a small eatery at 3820 Lancaster Avenue -- an area trying to redefine itself economically even while the pressures of gentrification and the ``so-called'' property of traditional cultures work to gain or regain property.

**The food at Eat Cafe' is pretty good and the menu changes weekly. Eat Cafe' is really an experiment that seems to be working quite well.  There is a suggested price of $15. per person, but if you have no funds, you can pay the next time or not at all.  Remember your drinks outside of water is not free even if you can't pay. There is an additional price [$2.75], for specialty drinks like Cinnamon-Iced Tea.

** The fish I had last week was baked, which was good, and the vegetables are always done to perfection. Once I had rice which the Chef / Manager [ MR. Donnell Jones Craven] told me was not cooked like regular rice from a box, but with vegetable or chicken stock and spices like parsley and garlic.  The MR Craven also told me the rice is rinsed to get the starch off of it. The end result is rice like you may have never experienced it before. Delicious!

** Other main dishes have included Chicken Pot Pie with a puff-pastry crust and a cheese sauce. This was really delicious and tasty. Fried chicken was also good as was the Cheese and pasta [If your not totally tired of this dish like I am.] .

**This is a restaurant that doesn’t stay open all week. [Hours are 4:30 P.M. to 8 P.M. Wednesday through Saturday] Being an extreamly effective Black community activist, I want to see more activist types, especially Black People, support this successful experiment and find out what the management needs by making yourself known, interacting in a positive Way with the management, and visiting often to be a Vanguard force to not only protect the patrons, children and the establishment, but also the idea of the restaurant as well.

** Also, as a Black activist you may be concerned about the pay for employees.  I know from the management and the Eat Café’ Web Page that the wait staff makes $14. An hour.  Restaurants in Pennsylvania are only required to pay about $2.50 an hour because waiters and waitresses depend on tips – which may or may not materialize.  Some patrons are not always as generous as others. At Eat Café’ you don’t have to leave a tip if you don’t want to because the wait staff are paid properly.  I am not certain or sure what the chefs make for salary, but I think they are paid adequately. I know some people don’t like to go to establishments that help poor or homeless People by offering free food or services (Somehow People feel they are taking advantage of establishments that help the poor or they don’t want to rub elbows with poor or homeless People.) I can tell you most People pay something, from what I know. I have gone several times and not paid for dinner.  This is because I have a long list of things I’m proposing to do for Eat Café’ for free (I have sent them this list and gotten approval for at least one thing on the list. ]

  • I forgot to say something about the service. The service is much more than adequate. The wait staff is well attired, professional in manner and attitude, and there is rarely a long wait for the food. The kitchen staff [and I have met at least two of the chefs] are highly trained, highly qualified and professional in manner, attitude and attire.  Our Black activist community needs to come out and support this stellar establishment.

**At Eat Café’ they had signs up for the longest asking People to display their art work. Recently, distinctive art work and photographs, descriptive statements and credits to the artists have been posted on the walls.  The art lends a nice touch to the establishment.

** Another point of fact, Take Out orders have to also be paid for with cash or credit.  I think creative Black activists should find out what Eat Café’ needs and be as cooperative and helpful as possible.

Protecting Our Black Children

Protecting Our Black Children

 By Tracy Charles Gibson

1] Children around the World getting kidnapped, & hurt?  – you can put a stop to this.

2] Don’t leave your children with people you don’t know intimately.

3] If you are a Black woman raising children alone, Befriend a trusted uncle or parent (your parent) to get to know them while you are with them.

4] Get safety tips from The Boy Scouts or the Cub Scouts or the Girl Scouts or the Brownies, from a local trope or from your local church.

5] Take your children on special trips & lecture them about being safe & not straying into crowds, wondering off or acting irresponsibly.

6] Advise your children not to get distracted with cell-phone use when on the Bus or Trolleys.

7] Realize that certain members of even the Black community may have wants and desires children don’t know about or understand and your children don’t want to get caught up into something the whole family and they will regret!

8] If your children go away for a school trip make sure you read about the place on the internet. If you don’t feel completely good about the Place, keep your children home & take a day off from work.

9]  If you have more than three children and can afford it, take your children to a nice restaurant – not Red Lobster or Olive Garden -- & teach them about good manners, using a table cloth, and  getting groomed, no matter how young they are, & take them to a nice Black-owned Restaurant like Miss Tootsie’s or Relish in Philadelphia.

10]  Show your children things to be careful or on guard about in the community such as gentrification, signs of White Racism, dangerous abandoned buildings, broken Street Lights (look both ways), or buildings under construction with tall cranes that could be dangerous. Don’t overload the Children with information. Intersperse information in a comfortable, timely and appropriate manner.

11] When your children get a little older, say 3, start to let them read books. Have a no-Television night where everyone reads a good appropriate book.

12] Take the Whole Family out for exercise on a regular basis.

What Money Is For

WHAT IS MONEY FOR………???

``When money is used properly it is used to employ & free people, save lives, solve problems, correct mistakes, purchase necessities, build progressive societies, help others, & to avert difficulties or help out during catastrophes. Or for basic necessities like food, rent, utility bills & a few luxuries like going to a fine restaurant a few times a month or investing in Real Estate, investment bonds & stocks or saving for retirement.  It was not created, in GOD’s mind, I believe, to hoard, exploit others, enslave People, oppress, or corrupt People; do evil; nor to expand ruthless Dynasties & Empires; create or trade weaponry; or to hurt and kill people; or for violence. ‘’

A quote from Brother Tracy Gibson….. (Author of ``Freeing the Free World—The Re-Awakening of the African Diaspora, (2009-2011)-- Moving from Abuse, Anger & Frustration to Hope, Activism & Accomplishment.’’ Due out in September of 2011.  A Book of Poetry is due out before that…

``In addition, it would be nice to have money if you are a Progressive, freedom-path finder such as I Am.  Sometimes the Oligarchy finds & devises ways to keep money out of the exact Black hands that need such financial resources to move our Progressive Nation – The United States of Native America – ahead and other such Nation’s ahead. We have to put a block on such financial curses through every legal and effective means we can.  It is crucial, in a Progressive revolution such as the one we in the United States of Native America are presently experiencing—it is crucial to have money to run our movement in an effective, on-going & meaningful Way. Often People whose coffers are full of cash & Capital & who want to give to the Progressive and revolutionary movement can’t get to the People who are working day to day on the front lines of the movement to bring home Freedom, democracy, decency, honesty, openness, honor, access to real capital, openness and access to GOD, education, a cleaner environment, Civil Rights, Human Rights, Prisoner rights & rights for formerly oppressed groups such as the Native Americans or Black / African People- sometimes getting money to the positive and working forces who want to bring these entities, forces & issues forward is a difficult thing. It must not be & it should not be a difficult thing to support openly our liberation movement. No one should feel ashamed, fearful or scared to support liberation movements that free bodies and souls from authentic oppression such as that experienced by Black People in North America or the world over.  It can’t be difficult to get to and generate money for our Progressive causes – Black, Native, Latin, White, Arab, Asian, Gay & Lesbian, straight and so forth—it can’t be difficult to get money to these forces if we are to have an effective and on-going movement that brings about the new world we so richly deserve and have worked so hard for over a very long duration.  When we borrow money from one another and don’t return it, we create difficulty for our positive Black / African Ancestral forces to move in the correct direction to help us. Where I live there is a young lady down the street who owes me $5.00. She has owed it to me for over two years. This May not sound like much money, but it –that debt-- can actually chop off my ability to give Her a job, or help Her son or daughter in a positive and on-going Way to become constructive & positive-minded adults….  She doesn’t understand this and ends up standing firmly in the Way of Progress.  What She doesn’t understand is that the positive Ancient Black Ancestral forces will eventually move Her right out of the Way and keep Her poor just for being such a negative force and a roadblock to progress.  There is also a White gentleman I know and was quite friendly with who attended my church for a time – Unity Fellowship Christ Church of Philadelphia at Broad & Arch in the Arch Street United Methodist Church at 55 North Broad Street [In the Chapel every Sunday at 2 P.M.]—He said a dominate Progressive religious leader in Our City would have to go on trial before He would get the backing of His People. [The White gentleman was talking about me.] GOD had another thing in mind. What I know is there will be no such trial and this individual [I’m talking about myself] will triumph and have a good relationship ,a good life,  longevity AND wealth. Such White people should not stand in the Way of what GOD has planned for good women and good men because doing such is the work of negative forces none of us church-goers want to be allied with—if you know what I mean.  GOD won’t slow down once He has the People behind Him and is headed in the correct direction, which is towards bringing liberation & effective access to money, People & resources to help effectively with resolving the many issues I mentioned here & helping the communities I mentioned.  But it takes money to put oil on the wheels of justice. I stand and sit in frustration until the People realize this & are able and willing to support me and my liberation efforts every day and in an effective, consistent and on-going manner.  We can’t just live in our communities and expect positive and Progressive change to come knocking on our doors. We have to get out into the community and find such change and make things happen. I have been working at it for over 30 years so I know it gets frustrating sometimes. But do you think for a moment the Brothers & Sisters who brought us the liberation efforts from the 1960’s took it slow and easy and watched TV and listened to advertising and played around all the time? No!! There may have been a bit of lollie-gagging, but most of the time was spent doing the difficult work that needed to be done to move the wheels of justice along & in a positive direction. Then, the Black churches were being burned down also and People were being killed also. But we stood up as a race of Black People and turned things around and used our feet to demonstrate and boycott and our votes to change things through the ballot box. We must do this again, but with a whole new peaceful, non-violent arsenal of weapons such as determining what stocks & bonds to purchase that will help our efforts through helping companies that are more adherent to our causes and issues; and through supporting Black businesses such as where I get my fruit & vegetables from – The Black Produce man Brother Arnett Woodall at 62nd & Market Street in West Philadelphia.  It can be done, it will be done and it has to be done. Otherwise we will have given into forces that mean nothing but the demise of us and our precious earth. We can’t stand for this. We must fight for Progressive change and move our money and efforts in such good and positive direction as to liberate us now and create a liberated society for our children’s & grand children’s future. So Mac, Paul, Raymond, Bernadette & my other neighbors, this is what money is for. Believe me I will hire People in the neighborhood as soon as I Am financially able & have the necessary funds. I work towards this every day!!!’’.

church money

February 16th, 2017 Thursday (Edited later for clarity and increasing levels of professionalism)

Dear Pastor Haskins and Assistant Pastor B.J.: This letter is not written to embarrass you or cause consternation or conflict or disruption in the church -- Unity Fellowship Christ Church Philadelphia that meets most Sundays at 55 north Broad at 1:45 P.M. in the Chapel for service.

**I promised about a year or two ago that I would donate $800.00 to church to dramatize that unless we are willing and ready and able to make a sacrifice and survive hardships for ourselves we will not get the money we need for our new building. [By the Way, I saw a building at 40th and Spring Garden called the LOVe Chapel that I think would be perfect to renovate, but there isn't much parking]. This $800.00 is to go to the Building Fund of our church -- Unity Fellowship Christ Church Philadelphia -- and is an equal amount of money [ $ good $ ] that was loaned to me from my Father's good friend Mr. Golden -- a Jewish friend of His, so I could buy my first piece of Property near 54th & Walnut.  [It was an income property and the first property I ever bought.]

** I strongly suggest the church buy property like an apartment building that can provide income for the church first, before you buy a church building which usually operates at a loss ergo -- in the red.

** I will have almost no money for groceries, phone bill, household expenses etc.. for March, 2017. I am asking people to look close by at my current e-mails and support me where possible. Next month I'm planning and will put $125.00 in church each time I attend church. I will also be capable of paying the church $13,000.00 which is the $125.00 for each week for two years. -- which I also had promised to give to the church. I plan to attend each and every week.

**Unless we face each day with seriousness and resolve we will never get the financial legs to stand on and create the income we need to sustain a church. I have not as yet, received a serious receipt for the money I gave the church last year [2016]. I gave $80.00 directly from books sold at a P.A.G.E.S. meeting about six months ago directly to Assistant Pastor B.J.. It has not been accounted for. This is why People are not giving money like they should, but I believe in you and I know you can do much good. I also gave at lest $50.00 in other dollars into the church which was not accounted for. I got a receipt that said I only gave $1.72 [One Dollar and 72 cents]. I am sure that doesn't mean one point 72 million dollars and I know I gave more that $1.72 cents. When something is fishy in Denmark, People don't give Denmark any money.

**I believe in this church to have the positive Power to change People's lives. This is why I have attended regularly even when I have to walk from 41st and Lancaster Avenue and back home some weeks.  [Please tell Raymond I still have those pork chops for Him at my house, unless I cook them for Leonard]. The walking really helps with the circulation and I think and Pray when I walk. I expect a full accounting before you cash or deposit the enclosed $800.00 postal money order.  [It will be sent to you on March 5, 2017 to your Post Office Box.].

** There are a few other things I must say of Unity Fellowship -- not just our church, but the whole network of 17 some churches.  Some People have fallen off the wagon and some People have left feeling disgruntled. I understand this and this happens to all churches. I am also tired of us being called a ``Gay'' church.  But I think you are changing lives and not taking no for an answer when it comes to people making the positive changes for themselves they need to make. I have had a few runs ins with church leadership, but I don't want you job[s]. I LOVe what I do and will make money at what I do very soon, if not at we speak. You changed my life when therapy at $60.00 an hour, was only able to take me but so far.  This is a miracle in progress and I want to see hundreds of other people -- especially Black People -- take advantage of what we have to offer. I thought I would be able to work for the Board, but that is not possible. I will continue to do what I can to generate support in my own Way. ANd I thank you for your continued work and effort.

Ever Grateful,

Tracy Gibson.

An Open Letter to Oprah WinfRey From Brother Tracy Gibson.....

Brother Tracy Gibson and Associates, INC.

Apt. B

Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19104

Dear Oprah of New York and California:
An Open Letter -- No Harm Meant...

I am an important Black writer in the West  Philadelphia area. I am Black and Gay and a political liability to myself because of the response to my own revolutionary and progressive ideas and non-violent actions. Some people in power hate on me because I have kicked the established Power structure in the shin and given them a black eye politically., but I have done so while patting them on the back, but not taking their big cigars, or the glasses of bourbon. I have demanded that they share money, wealth and power with the homeless and the poor or all races, but especially with Black people. [I mean  theoretically, and in reality.] They – the traditional Oligarchy --  don’t know, some of them don’t, weather to step on me like a roach, give me money or just ask me to move to another city or country or just go away. On Christmas Day 2013 at 5 P.M. I was struck on the back of the head with some kind of pipe or weapon and got a slight concussion. [I survived, went to the hospital and was not retained even overnight at Mercy Hospital at 54th and Cedar Avenue also in West Philadelphia.. You can look up the records and check for yourself.]  I have relentlessly kept on with my work because GOD herself or himself has both given me a safe path to work and because GOD herself or himself has helped me in my work. I am a strongly ethical Black Gay man, rarely to a fault. I wrote you some 30 letters, over about a 10 year period, but I never asked for a penny. No I am NOT Dupock SHopera,(Check Spelling)  who I consider just another unethical  money grubber and NOT very useful at all to the revolution or the progressive movement. .  I am Brother Tracy Gibson of West Philadelphia.  By the Way, I’m not interested in being interviewed by you unless you allow me to ask you at least ten questions. I think you have successfully dodged several questions that the public wants to know about and that are important for your own personal career’s continued success – the answers to those questions that is. [You need to answer these questions on Public Black media that is NOT owned by you or anyone with political or economic ties to you, not on your OWN {Oprah Winfree Network} [Check Spelling] Network.]

I want to be questioned by the Brother on the insurance commercials (Put His name here); or actor / producer Don Chedal.I will allow this interview to take place only after you answer the questions provided in this letter.  The fact that I am a Black homosexual is not incidental. The fact that I wrote a 657-page book that I haven’t been able to publish is also true. I am using this letter, in desperation, to sign away the rights of the book [I hereby do so under no strain, or negative influence, or undue influence, as of February fifth, 2017. I am doing this because even GOD herself or himself has been unable to create a publication path for this book [The Re-Awakening of the African Diaspora: A Grassroots Criteria for Liberation] . I actually copyrighted the book under the name [Tracks to Truth, Power and Freedom: A Grassroots Criteria for Liberation—The Federal Copyright Registration Number is TXu 1-793-312 Dated December 20th, 2011].

I have had at least three computers and five flash drives stolen over the last 20 years, so I am a bit leery about what I’m doing here.  I am GOD awful sick and tired of what has happened to me as a loyal Black activist and Black community organizer. I have spent time and money to make sure I haven’t broken any of the Whie man’s laws and have always worked to be ethical, legal and above board.  This has not paid off as I still only make $1,324.00 a month in disability income.  I am frankly sick of the whole mess!

By the Way I have really lived on less than $1,324.00 a month for the last 20 years.  See enclosed Federal  end-of-year statement for 2016.] . I am 60. I have a lover named MR. Leonard E. Taylor who stays with me sometimes. We both live in West Philadelphia. I have been black-balled in Philadelphia and because of my low credit score, age, disability [I am bipolar] and revolutionary, non-violent political beliefs, I have not been able to find a meaningful, well-paying  job.  I have my own corporation – Brother Tracy Gibson and Associates, INC.—through which I funnel my work as an educator, Black activist and lover of humanity through. We don’t make a dime that I know of. [Federal EIN Number 27—0145705.]

I have a sister, Mrs. Claudia Aziza Gibson  Hunter, who  entrusted me with $27,000.00 several years ago but I used the money to pay down a mortgage for a house I sold so I could buy another house in Delaware so I could have some God-Given peace and quiet so I could write the 657-page book I mentioned. My sister has always been there for me and has helped as she can.  My sister is also not making much money. I LOVe her dearly and we have a very good and positive relationship. She is married to a doctor [Doctor Keith Hunter both of Washington, D.C.]  I live in public housing which I was very glad to get and only pay $398.00 a month in rent and no utilities except the phone bill. I recently got my Serv.Saefe certificate [ certificate number 14312656 at 59 on October 29 of 2016, but still haven’t landed a job. I have at least two other copyrights one for an educational institution called ``The Institute to Create Proper Sexual Value, conduct and ethics among young people.’’ From about April 18th, 2013 No Federal Copyright  number is available.; and The Knowledge Hut Business Plan [Federal Copyright Registration Number TXu 1-831 – 958 from May 29th. 2012.

I have included a few documents here: a Letter about the Black Millionaire’s Network; and my Administrative Resume. The resume has my recent contact information. If you have any questions of me I can be reached easily through my LOVer’s cell phone number [ 1 – 267 – 361-9304.] This is actually my own phone number. Leonard is my personal assistant and LOVer.

What do I want from you? I would like to give you some advice as a business consultant. You can decide to send me a check if you want to, but I have to tell you a few things.  [The check can be for whatever amount you want.] You need psychotherapy because you really don’t LOVe or like Black people.  I know we are not your basic constituent which is White women, but because you are Black, you really need to consider what your Blackness does to little Black girls and little Black boys also who want to make it in industry.  You have been given access to many, many things and situations that have helped you.  Everybody always says ``well, Oprah is doing it. I don’t see what is stopping you as a Black person.’’ You have been put up there for expressly this reason by the Ruling Class [Oligarchy] and my feeling is this farce needs to be revealed and disclosed, especially to Black people, who get really little benefit from anything you do.  I know you have given millions of dollars to Black Universities and Black schools, but that does not repair the damage or offset what you have done by being held up as a success when success is snatched away from thousands of us because of this.  Image is key. For example, I saw you on television with a White man – leaning on his shoulder—at the first Obama Inauguration.  That image is one that hundreds of Black youth saw.  Are they supposed to lean on the White man also instead of leaning on our beautiful Black community for support? I think if we lean on each other, we are much better off.  Don’t feel I’m after your money. I’ll make money sho nuf, even though I have most likely been tagged to not get an extra dime due to my progressive and revolutionary views and non-violent / peaceful actions and tactics.

If you wish to relinquish any interests in the book and copyrights to the book [The Re-Awakening of the African Diaspora: A Grassroots Criteria for Liberation] please call my lawyer Attorney Ron Harper of 140 Maplewood Avenue; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania 19144 at 1-215 - 844-4848 Extension 11.

I have an idea for you also at no charge. How about ``Oprah’s 11’’ instead of ``Ocean’s 11’’ and you pick 11 young business executives (Please make five of them Black, African American,  African or Caribbean – and no I don’t mean East Indian) and raise them to work for you for five years and learn How to be successful Black entrepreneurs. I personally think they should be from ages 12 to 19 and make at least $30 an hour. This is a fantastic public relations effort / community growth effort  and would be graciously accepted by the Black community internationally.

I wish you the best of luck in your general business endeavors and good works.

Gratefully,

Brother Tracy Gibson,

Founder, President and Chief Executive Officer, (Disabled)

Of Brother Tracy Gibson and Associates, INC.

Building Black wealth through positive effort.

Questions for Oprah Winfried:

#1] Are you a homosexual?

#2] Has your personal relationship with Stedman been a sham all these years?

#3]     Do you have a personal sexual relationship with your girlfriend Gail?

#4] Do you feel this is anyone’s business except your own, even though you are in the public arena?

#4] Could you explain some of the doors that have been opened for you and why you think these doors have been opened when they are not opened to other Black people?

#5] Do you think Hillary Clinton was a good choice for President in 2016? If so why?

#6] What is your advice to Black young businesspeople?

#7] What are some of your most exciting plans for the next 10 years. [Those you want to reveal.]

#8] What REALLY makes you tick as a person?

#9] In one sentence, what is the best business advice you can give anyone, especially Black youth?

#10] Did you ever personally see or read any of the 30 oetters you were mailed from me personally? If so, were you able to gain anything from them that helped you in your work?

If you want to ignore the first five questions, I totally understand. I am just telling you what the public wants to know about for sure.  You are under no political, Spiritual, economic or legal obligation or pressure to answer any of these questions or respond to this letter in any Way at all.  I plan to reinstitute my ``O’’ subscription in December of 2018. I do not watch OWN [Oprah Winfree Network]Check name spelling   except for about 30 minutes while I’m at the gym [Planet Fitness] because I don’t have cable Television, can’t afford it and don’t want it. I was extremely disappointed when BET was bought by the corrupt conglomerate Viacom. Black people need relevant, coherent, viable, ethical, hopeful, optimistic, well-researched, politically astute, and Black owned media or all sorts.  We don’t need sophisticated sham artists.
