Building HOPE and PEACE for needy Black People & Lifting all Boats in Our community.
From MR. Gibson….
Dear Drexel University’s Trustees and Endowment Office.
I Am a frequent visitor to the Eat Café.  I have very, very little money for food and can’t eat the variety of foods that are loaded with salt, sugar and fat that one gets to cook at home from the Church Missions. I deeply appreciate the Eat Café, at 3820 Lancaster Avenue being there for the community.  I know they work hard to get the money together each week and each month to pay all the staff and bills.  I often feel guilty for giving nothing for my food, even though this is exactly what the restaurant was designed to do—serve a need in the community just like mine.  I AM an activist and really do a great job at providing advocacy for several people and on several issues—especially those issues pertaining to the advent of more positive policies for Black people from local, state and federal governments and for we as Black People to take on more of the things that are helpful to us as Black people. [ I Am convinced that many of the issues we don’t want to face as Black People are at the core of our being in such a social and economic predicament that we often find as a hopeless trap .  ]
I AM formally asking for the Eat Café staff and owners and organizers to get more money from Drexel’s fund-raising departments, endowments, and other corporate sources of money that Drexel University is able to find and exploit.  This will help Eat Café run more smoothly and help more Black and poor people in the Black community.   I think the manager needs a significant raise as do all employees including the assistant managers, cooks, wait-staff and clean-up people. Those who run the agency also need relief from their financial burdens of raising so much money in such a short time.   Please feel free to call on me if I can help you raise money [ I can be paid a % of that which is raised.].
Gratefully True,

Dear Black Women, A Letter on Health and Wellness....

Dear Black Women,

I LOVe you all very much, but I’m very concerned about two related subjects.
1] Your carrying a lot of extra weight.

2] Your man being ``turned off’’ by this obesity.

There are several alternatives to carrying a lot of extra weight.
1] Exercise. Do a little at a time to start like walking three extra blocks before your bus stop// or walking home from church while taking proper sneakers and sweat gear.   [ Take your church clothing and send it home with your boyfriend, girlfriend, or husband.  ]
2] Get counseling for excessive weight gain. [ It may be covered by your health insurance. ]
3] Visit some of the Black vitamin and health shops to find healthy diet pills and ask your doctor BEFORE you buy them.
4] Cook with a lot less fat. Cook less or cut out white potatoes; white rice; butter and lard.
You can get Earth Balance Buttery Spread which tastes just like butter to me, but has a lot less fat and calories. Cook greens in vegetable stock, stir fried onions, and garlic with Balsamic vinegar and a shake or two of powered mustard. Let them cook down.  DON’t Eat fried chicken more than once a month.  Get plenty of fresh fruits and fresh vegetables, lean means (try to avoid red meats all together).  Do this SLOWLY.  Eat a few small cupcakes  if you have a sweet tooth; eat some granola bars; no-salt pop corn, don’t eat salt too much if you have high blood pressure. Write [ e-mail: BrotherTracy11@GMail.Com ] and I’ll send you several self- improvement books that will help get your mind ready to lose the weight for good , even if you are working. ///// Call me at 1 ( 215 ) 823 – 9985.

The second thing I want to mention is NOT funny either. Men are turning to other men and other women because you have let the spark out of your relationship. I know some men who LOVe women, but can’t find a nice sized one, so He turns to other hard-bodied men or women He finds suitable and sexy.  These are some of the reasons you need to talk to a therapist.  Don’t be ashamed of this.  All getting a therapist is saying is that you can benefit from therapy, not that you are mentally ill. I LOVe you, but I REALLY want you to take these things to heart. PLEASE write me and let me get back to you. Send me your e-mail address. My book list is smoking and really helpful.  Brother Tracy Gibson…..

2016 Annual Report for Brother Tracy Gibson & Associates, INC.

Mission Statement: Who we are

We are a Black education, public relations, advocacy, advertising, marketing, and customer service & philanthropy company dedicated to helping Black youth stabilize, learn traditional Black family values, and become a viable and useful part of the Black community. We also want to and have helped stabilize our entire Black community nationally, in Pennsylvania and in Philadelphia. We do this through education projects, philanthropy and through projects to support Black progressive businesses.
List of Achievements:
1] Started to resolve our problem with 2015 taxes for our 2015 Summer Intern. We will send in a $50.00 deposit to get the tax problem resolved. [We are NOT getting any pressure whatsoever from the Internal Revenue Service, but the Pennsylvania Unemployment office has been writing intermittently.] This ``problem’’ boils down to a retroactive payroll for a $1,060.00 payment to our 2015 Summer intern, Mr. Andre Paulhill, that was never paid taxes on. I am, frankly, ashamed that it has taken so long to resolve, but no legitimate payroll company wants to touch it. I have written and called at least two accountants and still haven’t resolved the situation.  I don’t think it is nearly as major as I think, but it is a pain in the foot. It will get resolved within the next three months.  We have not had much luck in our attempts to get funding for the summer of 2017.
2] Did informal promotions for the Black Bank in Philadelphia, United Bank.  This was a joy to do. I spent time talking to different people and asking if they have a bank account at United Bank. I asked a group of Black activists and even they only raised about five to ten hands in a room of about 30 to 40 Black people.  We have a ways to go on this one, but I actually did ask a United Bank official how many and where they would like to open new branches. They said they wanted three new branches: one in South Philadelphia; One in West Philadelphia (where they closed a branch a few years ago); and finally,  one in Upper Darby, the suburbs.  This is a project I will keep working on throughout 2017. I sent an e-mail promoting United Bank to a prominent pastor here, [ Reverend Doctor Renee McKenzie is the Pastor of Church of the Advocate in Philadelphia -- a black church with a fine reputation of activism.] She responded, so I asked Reverend Renee [revrenee@churchoftheadvocate.org], if I could send United Bank her e-mail, which detailed how the bank can improve on services and generate broader appeal while competing more effectively with major banks in the city. Pastor Renee allowed me to forward the e-mail to United Bank. I did so and was thrilled! Another Assistant Pastor friend was also contacted by me, but he had some concerns about United bank’s  lack of services and rating in the bank regulatory community.  I think, however, his church is considering switching to United Bank.  I have sent many promotions to churches to get them to switch to United Bank.
3] We were largely unsuccessful at getting major corporate sponsors for some of our corporate ideas. This was rather discouraging, but we have prevailed and kept a stiff upper lip. I will be sending this Annual Report to possible Black corporate Angel investors, and other people who might be interested in investing with us. Never give up hope, even in the face of   defeat.
4] We have written about 30 articles on various subjects including Black Gay Pride and Decency; Keeping Faith; Black Business and how to Preserve it and promote it and why that is important; We promoted the concept of having African Principals and are about to ask for an endorsement of our African Principals with Dr. Molefi Asante Chairperson, Temple University’s African American Studies Department; and Maulana Kaernga who is the founder of Kwanzaa (which, by the Way is celebrating 50 years of existence).  We had a TV producer who wanted to look into producing a show dedicated to the Principals, but since we didn’t have the money to hire a lawyer, I let that go, not wanting to get the African Principals tied up in a legal battle and no program being produced. (See if you can get the name of the production company). The African Principals carry my name (Gibson), but were thought of because of the work of the late Reverend Leon Sullivan and his work on dismantling South Africa’s Apartheid system.
5] I personally was awarded my certificate after passing the Serv.Safe food service test in October, 2016. The class was taken at the People’s Emergency Center and was a delight.  I am now looking for gainful employment for kitchen work or a Chef’s Assistant, which will help me funnel money into my corporate interests.
6] My lover and I have saved over $376.00 towards buying stocks and bonds in June when our special account at United Bank matures. I am personally interested in buying stock in Waste Management; Sonny TV and pictures; and General Electric. This money is untouchable until June of 2017. My lover and I will have to talk over this soon. This will give a boost to our financial status and help the corporation.
7] I have sent out movie ideas in as formal a state as I could for now. I have not received any formal responses at this point, but I think it will be only a matter of time before I further formalize this and get something accepted. I have to read up on this and reapply.
8] I closed down my account with Face Book because I was unhappy with the results I was getting and was hindered by personal family messages when I was more interested in using Face Book for corporate interests. This was risky, but I think it is paying off in getting more acceptance from established sectors of the community of business people in Philadelphia. I recently attended a job fair given by City Councilwoman Jannie Blackwell and just had a ``feeling’’ there was more seriousness and acceptance there.  I have also been writing more public officials and trying not to be so emotional with my e-mails and letters. I have not always succeeded in this regard, but I am not giving up.
9] We have continued to support small Black businesses; and Black individuals who are working to improve the Black community.  We do this through directly supporting more Black and Latin businesses and through giving small donations to Black people who are asked to use the funds at Black stores. We usually give only $7.00 or $7.77 since we have so few funds to work with.
10] We worked at applying for a $3,000.00 loan, but didn’t have the $125.00 application fee. The application languished for months. I finally had to withdraw it and ask for my tax returns back. They couldn’t find them and had to order my 2015 personal tax returns from the Internal Revenue Service. We were rejected for a loan from the same company last year (2015). They are the West Philadelphia Financial Services Institute.  They have a major office near 52nd Street and Giraud Avenue.
11] We have also promoted the concept of Africa Town in a few articles this year and plan to step up this promotion next year [2017]. The concept of African Town is creating a business strip that will serve mostly Black customers and consist of 100 % Black businesses for a strip of at least 20 businesses. Other ethnic groups have such exclusive places to shop for their people and it definitely help stabilize people of color communities and serve as a center focal point of pride and dignity for ethnic groups such as the Chinese (China Town); and the Italian Market (The Italian people).   I will have to ask for an appointment with a City Council person next year to be taken more seriously on this one. I noticed that on the web page for Black Wall Street (every Black person should visit www.BlackWallStreet.Com and discover this for their selves). The Black Wall Street staff has a whole prospectus and well-thought-out plan for creating predominately Black business strips throughout our Nation.
12] Over the summer of 2016, I met with the Executive Director of BEBASHI [Blacks Educating Blacks About Sexual Health Issues] and talked about reaching the Black men-who-have-sex-with-men populations of Philadelphia through erotic videos that promote safer sex. The idea was not received warmly and the Executive Director said the Board of BEBASHI would not take to such an idea as producing sexually explicit films even though I explained that they would be more like soft pornography that regular pornography. I let him know I would keep in touch and that I was very interested in helping him reach this population which is highly infected with the illness.
13] We stopped having regular board meetings since I could not get our regular board to attend meetings and could not find an adequate meeting space. Again I was discouraged and let down, but only for a short time.  As I get a regular funding stream in 2017, I will reengage our board, find new board members, and open our headquarters in West  Philadelphia.

good ethics for Africa -- ending corruption & greed

//

🌐Jan 6 (10 days ago)
To my students,  try to follow good ethics and principals as you research, write and study.  [ Sister Cynthia McKinney, I don’t have to tell you such things. You taught me to be more ethical. ]
Remember [ Kwanzaa] African Principals all year long.
•Umoja: Unity. To strive for and maintain unity in the family, community, nation, and race.
•Kujichagulia: Self-Determination: ...
•Ujima: Collective Work and Responsibility. ...
•Ujamaa: Cooperative Economics. ...
•Nia: Purpose. ...
•Kuumba: Creativity. ...
•Imani: Faith.
🌐The Gibson Hunter Principals, for AFRICA!!!
These principles are offered to ALL people of African descent and ALL people of the world who are concerned about us to begin a process, that has already started in some quarters, that will bring about greater decency, equality, respect, cooperation, and financial prosperity WITHOUT exploitation from any corporate, government, quazi-government or private or other force from within or outside the African Continent.  They are offered to bring about help for the African continent and its’ People, and help to build on an already existing program of support for the People of Africa and the entire African Diaspora. They are also offered in the same spirit of healing, LOVe and fairness that the Sullivan Principles [from the now late Reverend Leon Sullivan of Philadelphia’s great Zion Baptist Church] were offered to the South Africans during Apartheid.https://mail.google.com/mail/e/347https://mail.google.com/mail/e/347https://mail.google.com/mail/e/347https://mail.google.com/mail/e/347https://mail.google.com/mail/e/347https://mail.google.com/mail/e/347https://mail.google.com/mail/e/014https://mail.google.com/mail/e/801
No African, regardless of your station in life, is to treat another African with anything but RESPECT and DIGNITY.
All the people of the world who are concerned about the People of Africa, The African Continent and the African Diaspora are to show that concern in a real and lasting way through some process or consideration at least once a week.  That concern can be something as small as a letter to your Congressperson asking for more financial support for any given program that has been proven effective  in helping the People of Africa such as: rightful land ownership; land and property management; the use of private and public funds in helping African people; finding Ways to provide clean, fresh water and effective irrigation for the people and crops of Africa; finding Ways to lessen, end and or to avoid violence, civil strife, conflicts and war; finding effective and useful Ways to treat women, men and children in a respectful and dignified Way for the duration; and to help Africans who may be infected or affected in ANY way what so ever with  such maladies as  HIV and AIDS. This list is BY NO MEANS ALL- INCLUSIVE… Other Africans, Caribbean’s, African Americans or others from the African Diaspora  working on such decency and Peace initiatives for the Continent of Africa MUST BE EQUALLY CONSIDERED…
Wars of aggression on the African continent should be covered by ALL media just like any war in any other part of the world.
People MUST be allowed to see the progress, highlighted in a positive Way, that is going on in Africa and that is spearheaded by African people just as much if not more than they see the negative things that African People are doing on the African Continent.
Cultural differences MUST BE RESPECTED even though they are not supported or understood by people and governments and government leaders from the West. This RESPECT must be a forthright goal even if those cultural differences are considered heinous, strange, stupid, evil, ignorant or indifferent.
The massive influence and economic control that the international corporate structure has on Africa and the lives of Africans must be controlled, tailored, shaped and molded with the full consent, agreement, and control of the majority of the People of African descent living on the African continent and their leaders and those leaders MUST not be deemed controlled or unduly influenced by said international corporate structure or those leaders can be replaced through an open, non-violent and democratic process in a timely manner.
We must all take time to understand the so-called tribal wars and tribal differences that exist among the Africans and find solutions and Ways of resolving those differences while bringing about a peaceful co-existence among African People.
Different and divergent aspects of the Black community in the United States and Black communities and Black people around the world are asked to come together to bring forth a peaceful, meaningful, safe, mutually beneficial, and economically rewarding existence for ALL AFRICAN PEOPLE throughout the World.
The harsh treatment of the environment is to be avoided at ALL cost and ALL AFRICANS are to get and prioritize clean water, a clean and safe environment, clean and pollution-free air and the building and retooling of buildings must follow ``green building’’ guidelines to be drawn up by groups of independent Africans who cannot and will not be impacted on by corrupt influences or Western influences except for technical and financial assistance. Such technical and financial assistance MUST be without money strings attached or corrupted in ANY WAY.
Population control must be part of the equation for proper and progressive development in Africa, but we must remember that Africa is a network of developing Nations. As such, the African People are not super consumers as we are in the West (Europe and the United States).  Africans use far less food, electricity, goods and services and other energy sources than the West does and an African Person is far less of a consumer because of this.  He or She leaves far less waste and far less harsh treatment to the environment than His or Her Western Cousin.
Businesses that do business and develop in Africa must do so with high principles, morals and ethics and have as their core value the benefit of the People of Africa NOT PROFITS AND THE KIND OF BRUTAL EXPLOITATION THAT TRADITIONALLY IS ASSOCIATED WITH WHITE-RUN BIG BUSINESSES ON THE AFRICAN CONTINENT.  Black Africans MUST be part of the business process all along the Way, and not just any Africans, but people who have a long history of positive community involvement / progressive political views and actions / and who share not only the profit-making motive but an authentic concern for the People and the Land of This Great Continent. They MUST also have the interests of ALL the African People at heart including the children of Africa, women, men and the disabled.
Homosexual People or Gay and Lesbian People, Transgendered People and Bisexual People among the African People MUST be treated with fairness, respect and dignity even as cultural differences and historical conflicts are worked out, considered, pondered, examined, studied, written about  and explored. The model of South Africa having Gay and Lesbian Rights as part of their Constitution MUST be a goal for each and every African country. There needs to be a consideration of partnership rights, fair treatment, access to education, access to housing rights, access to employment rights and access to jobs and other such rights considered, even as the cultural, tribal and ethnic  differences that might see homosexuals as a threat, are explored, studied and considered. The goal MUST be to consider the rights of homosexuals and transgendered People just as fairly and equally as the rights of other people in Africa.

Protesters attend a demonstration organised by The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) which are pushing for a nationwide strike to protest against corruption, in Cape Town, South Africa September 27, 2017.
South Africa's largest trade union went on strike Wednesday, threatening to "shut down the country" as it protested against corruption in the ruling African National Congress (ANC) party.
The Congress of South African Trade Unions (COSATU) mobilized strike action nationwide, including in the capital Pretoria and economic hub Johannesburg. The strike has been backed by a number of groups including independent organization Business Leadership South Africa.
"Workers (are) ready and willing to fight the immoral and criminal phenomenon of state capture and the cancer of corruption," COSATU wrote in a statement published on its website September 21.
"Our intention is to shut down the country tomorrow, but we are going to do so without the use of force. You can't fight corruption with corruption," COSATU spokesperson Sizwe Pamla told the Huffington Post South Africa Tuesday.
South Africa's economic woes continue to rumble along. In April, its sovereign rating was downgraded to junk by ratings agencies Fitch and S&P Global, moves largely attributed to political upheaval in the country. According to Statistics South Africa, unemployment for the second quarter of 2017 was 27.7 percent – though in its statement COSATU places the real unemployment rate at 38 percent.
Despite this, the country did scramble its way out of its second recession in a decade earlier in September, with second quarter growth for 2017 falling at 2.5 percent.
According to COSATU's statement, South Africa is losing roughly R147 billion ($10.9 billion) illegally taken out of the country each year. // South Africa needs political, economic and social stability: Academic

While Wednesday's strike is "part of a succession of protests against (President Jacob) Zuma," it is "much more formalized" than previous action, Chris Vandome, research analyst with the Africa program at think tank Chatham House told CNBC.
According to a survey by consultancy firm Kantar TNS, support in urban areas for Zuma dropped to 20 percent in March. Vandome added that "the strike is already on the side of public opinion."
Gary van Staden, political analyst at South Africa-based firm NKC African Economics, wrote in a note: "The demonstrations are widely regarded as a referendum on (Zuma's) leadership and, more to the point, his succession."
Zuma is not expected to run for president in the country's next general election in 2019. COSATU and other organized labor supports Deputy President Cyril Ramaphosa rather than the Zuma-backed candidate Nkosazana Dlamini-Zuma, who is also his former wife.

Corruption in South Africa most recently made headlines earlier in September, as financial services firm KPMG withdrew its top tier management due to misdoings with the Gupta brothers, businessmen closely linked to the president.
"In South Africa there is the realization of the enormous social and political problems they face, and can't fix overnight," Vandome said. People are reinforcing their "expectation for the government to act equitably, with no queue-jumpers," he added.sy.
